Best Woodland Forest Themed Party Food ideas

Here are some super cute and adorable woodland forest themed party foods and party snacks ideas, just right for an enchanted forest birthday party or baby shower theme, from easy to make no bake options to super cute storybook woodland baby shower food ideas. These are all human made and fun to make with your little helpers!

1. Easy cake mix hedgehog cookies

These Hedgehog Cookies are adorable, bite-sized treats made to look like cute little hedgehogs using simple cake mix dough and chocolate details. Chocolate cookies are covered with sprinkles, filled with melted white chocolate, and decorated with chocolate features and little black icing eyes.

They're as fun to make as they are to eat and perfect for parties, kids' treats, or playful desserts.

Hedgehog Cookies serves: 24 cookies

Prep time: 20 minutes

Cook time: 8–10 minutes

Additional time: 20 minutes

Total time: 1 hour 20 minutes

You will need

• 1 (13.25 oz) box milk chocolate cake mix

• 1/2 cup vegetable oil

• 2 eggs

• 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles

• 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers

• Black gel icing

1. Preheat the oven to 359°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, stir together the cake mix, vegetable oil, and eggs until a dough forms.

3. Use a 1 1/2 tablespoon cookie scoop to portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie because they will spread.

4. Use a spoon to make a well in the center of each dough ball

Then press the chocolate sprinkles into the sides and top of the dough.

5. Bake for 8–10 minutes. Remove from the oven and gently press the centers down again while the cookies are still warm. Transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.

6. Set aside 1/4 cup of the white chocolate melting wafers. Place the remaining 3/4 cup in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely melted.

Carefully spoon the melted chocolate into the well in the center of each cooled cookie and allow it to set.

7. Place the reserved 1/4 cup melting wafers into a piping bag. Microwave for 30 seconds, gently massage the bag, and repeat until the chocolate is melted.

8. Snip the very tip of the piping bag. Pipe small chocolate circles toward the top and bottom of the white chocolate center on each side, then pipe a small section toward the top middle for the nose.

9. Once the chocolate has set, add a small dab of black icing to the nose and two dabs above it for the eyes.

Tips and tricks!

• Leave plenty of space between the cookies because the dough spreads while baking.

• Press the centers down again while the cookies are still warm to make room for the white chocolate filling.

Substitutions: Use another chocolate cake mix if a 13.25 oz milk chocolate cake mix is unavailable. Milk or dark chocolate melting wafers can be used for the decorative chocolate details.

Variations: Try different colors of sprinkles for a different look, or use milk or dark chocolate for the hedgehog details instead of white chocolate.

Storage: Store the cooled cookies in an airtight container.
