Best Christmas Morning Breakfast ideas

Here are our favourite cutest breakfast treats for Christmas morning, breakfast recipes that are easy to make for kids and all ages - more fun savoury options coming soon! 



1. Peanut butter oat Christmas tree bars 

These combine oats and cereal with creamy peanut butter, topped with chocolate to make them extra special and festive! These look super special and make for the perfect fun Christmas cereal bars - the oats provide slow release energy but they are a delicious treat all on their own - so perfect for breakfast or snacking!
 


Servings: 10 servings 

Prep: 20 minutes

Set Time: 40 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour 



You will need

• ½ cup light brown sugar 

• ½ cup corn syrup 

• ¾ cup creamy peanut butter 

• ½ cup crushed pretzels 

• 1 cup quick oats 

• 2 cups crispy rice cereal 

 ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips 

• ½ cup creamy peanut butter

• 1 cup powdered sugar 

• 1 ½ tbsp milk 

• 1-2 drops green gel food coloring 

• Sprinkles of choice 


To begin, in a bowl, combine the pretzels, oats, and cereal. 


In a pan over low heat, combine the corn syrup and brown sugar. 


Wait for the mixture to bubble for about a minute then remove from heat. Add the peanut butter. 


Pour the pan mixture into the cereal mixture and stir. 


Firmly press the mixture into an 8x8 baking dish lined with parchment paper. Set aside. 


In a bowl, add the chocolate chips and peanut butter. 


Microwave for 30 second intervals until smooth then pour over the mixture evenly. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour or the freezer for 20-30 minutes. 


When the bars are set, remove them from the pan. Cut down the middle then cut each half into 5 triangles. 


Mix together the powdered sugar and milk


Then add the green food coloring. 


Add to a piping bag and pipe zig zag lines onto the trees with the sprinkles you chose. Enjoy!
