Here is how to make these adorable bee cookies, using Oreos or similar sandwich cookies and pretzel pieces! These would be so cute for a bee themed birthday party or baby shower, or even a great no bake option for a spring or summer picnic or bake sale. They are easy to make too and great to make with your little helpers and little ones!

Servings: 12 cookies Prep Time: 40 minutes | Cook Time: 0 minutes

You will need

• 12 Oreo cookies
• 24 mini pretzels
• 24 edible eyes
• 10 oz dark chocolate melts
• 10 oz white chocolate melts
• Yellow oil based food colouring
• 2 tbsp vegetable oil

First, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Break the pointed ends off the pretzels to create a "B" shape for the wings.

Add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil to the white chocolate and heat according to the package instructions until melted and smooth.

Stir in a few drops of yellow food colouring until the desired colour is reached.

Place an Oreo in the white chocolate and flip using a fork to coat both sides.

Gently tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate.

Place on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining Oreos. Set in the freezer for 10 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely hardened.

Add the remaining vegetable oil to the dark chocolate and heat according to the package instructions until melted and smooth.

Dip the Oreo about ⅓ of the way into the dark chocolate and place it on the baking sheet.

Before the dark chocolate hardens, gently press 2 eyes into each Oreo. Repeat this process with remaining Oreos, so each one has a little bee face with two eyes.

Drizzle chocolate over the remaining part of the Oreo to form the bee’s body.

Dip the pretzels into the dark chocolate and gently press them onto the Oreo to form the bee's wings.

This will harden and stick.

Place in the freezer for another 10 minutes, or until everything is completely hardened.

Serve and enjoy!

Top tips! Be sure to use an oil based food colouring or gel food colouring that is suitable for chocolate, instead of liquid food colouring - the latter will alter the consistency of the chocolate and make it thick and difficult to work with.

Be sure to let the chocolate completely set in the freezer to ensure the cookies are easy to work with.
