Servings: 12 Prep time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 25 minutes

You will need

• 48 tater tots
• 12 Lil Smokies or similar
• 3 slices cheddar cheese
• 1-2 tbsp ketchup
• 1-2 tbsp mustard
• 12 cup muffin pan

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees, and grease a muffin pan. Cut the cheddar cheese slices into quarters.

Add 4 tater tots to each cavity, then bake for 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven, use a spoon to form the tater tots up the sides, forming a cup

Add a quarter slice of cheese to the center of each tater tot cup, then top with a Lil Smokie. Then transfer the muffin pan back to the oven, and bake for 15 minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven and let the cups rest for a few minutes to set. Then, gently run a small knife or fork around the edges to loosen and lift them out.

Drizzle with ketchup and mustard and arrange on a plate or platter to serve.

3. Mini tater tot burger bites

These will be the first to go at any party or event! Why not take your favourite burger and create miniature versions for guests to enjoy, using tater tots at either end to sandwich together all your favourite fillings. A lighter snack or appetizer that incorporates everyone's favourite burger fillings and flavours, these are perfect to make for your party or special occasion.

Yields: 12 servings Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 15 minutes

You will need

● 1lb ground beef
● 1 package onion soup mix
● ½ bag Tater tot crowns, prepared
● 12 slices pre-cut cheddar cheese
● 12 pieces green leaf lettuce
● 12 sliced cherry tomatoes
● 12 dill pickle slices
● 12 toothpicks or mini bamboo forks

1. Cook tater tots according to the package directions until crispy and golden. Set aside to cool slightly.

2. In a bowl, mix ground beef with onion soup mix until fully combined.

3. Place the meat between two sheets of parchment paper and flatten evenly.

4. Remove the top sheet and use a knife to score the beef into small squares, slightly wider than a tater tot. Gently separate the pieces before cooking.

5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the mini patties until browned and cooked through, flipping once.

6. Top each burger with a slice of pre-cut cheddar cheese and let it melt over the warm patties.

7. Use a bamboo fork or toothpick to build each bite. Start with a tater tot as the base, then layer on a pickle chip, a small piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a cheesy burger patty. Top with another tater tot to complete the stack.

8. Repeat with the remaining ingredients and serve with your favorite condiments on the side.

4. Tater tots loaded cups

These cute loaded cups double as a tasty snack or impressive party appetizer and can be made in under 40 mins! You can load them with sour cream, bacon and chives or your favourite toppings to suit every occasion. They are quick and easy, yet extremely moreish and will have guests craving more!

Yields: 12 servings Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time: 30 minutes

You will need

● 60 Tater Tots, frozen (this is approx ¾ of a 32oz bag)
● ¾ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
● ⅓ cup sour cream
● ½ cup bacon, crumbled
● ¼ cup scallions, sliced
● 12-cup muffin pan

1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Add 5 frozen tater tots to each muffin cup, dividing them evenly between the 12 cups.

2. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the pan from the oven.

3. Use a small tool to press the tots into a cup shape — we used a toothpick holder, but a small glass like a shot glass works just as well. Press gently and give a slight twist to help form the base. Repeat for all cups.

4. Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes, until the edges are golden and crispy.

5. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese into the center of each tater tot cup.

6. Bake for 3-5 more minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted.

7. Remove the pan from the oven and let the cups rest for a few minutes to set. Then, gently run a small knife or fork around the edges to loosen and lift them out.

8. Transfer the Tater Tot cups to a serving platter and top each with a small dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of bacon crumbles, and a few thinly sliced scallions. Enjoy!
