How to make Apple Pie Layered Dip

This Apple Pie Dip is creamy, cozy, and packed with all the classic flavours of homemade apple pie!

A smooth cheesecake-style dip is topped with tender cinnamon apples in a sweet, thickened sauce for an easy dessert that's perfect for parties, fall gatherings, and dipping with your favourite cookies or crackers.

Apple Pie Dip serves: 8–10

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 15 minutes

Total time: 30 minutes

You will need

• 3–4 Granny Smith apples

• Juice from 1/2 lemon

• 1/2 cup brown sugar

• 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

• 1 cup water

• 2 tbsp cornstarch

• 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature

• 4 oz Cool Whip

• 1 cup confectioners' sugar

• 2 tsp vanilla extract

1. Peel and dice the apples into small, even pieces.

In a large bowl, toss them with the lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon until evenly coated.

2. Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the apple mixture and water, stirring to combine.

Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, until the apples are tender.

3. Remove a few tablespoons of liquid from the pan and stir it together with the cornstarch until smooth.

Pour the mixture back into the pan and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

Remove from the heat and allow the apple mixture to cool completely.

4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the Cool Whip, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla extract, then beat until creamy and well combined.

5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into a serving dish and spoon the cooled apple pie filling over the top.

Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve with graham crackers, cookies, or pretzels.

Tips and tricks!

• Make sure the apple mixture has cooled completely before spooning it over the cream cheese layer.

• Serve with graham crackers, cookies, or pretzels for dipping.

• Chill until ready to serve if you prefer a colder, firmer dip.

Substitutions: For a sweeter flavour, use Honeycrisp or Fuji apples instead of Granny Smith.

Variations: Add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice for an extra cozy fall flavour.
