Best Fall Desserts for a Crowd

Here are our favourite fall party desserts to make for a crowd, from fall sheet pan desserts ideas for a large crowd to decadent fall layered desserts that will have guests asking for seconds! Here are our best dig in fall desserts for a large crowd - we will keep on adding to the list as we go.

1. Ultimate fall caramel poke cake

This ultimate fall caramel poke cake is a rich, fluffy pumpkin yellow cake, soaked in sweetened condensed milk, topped with whipped topping, heath bits and drizzled with caramel. It’s super moist, insanely delicious, and totally addictive. It's fall in every bite!

Serves: 12 Prep time: 10 mins Cook time: 30 mins Total time: 2 hours and 40 minutes

You will need

• 15 oz can of pure pumpkin
• 15 oz box of yellow cake mix
• 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
• 8 oz package of cool whip (thawed)
• 8 oz bag of heath bits
• 1/2 cup of caramel sauce

1. Preheat the oven to 350° and grease a 9x13 baking dish and set aside. In a large mixing bowl add the pumpkin and yellow cake mix.

Stir until completely combined.

Pour and spread evenly into the prepared baking dish. Add to the oven and cook for the time that’s said on the back of the cake box. Mine was done in around 30 minutes.

2. Once done, remove from the oven and let sit and cool for 10 minutes. Using the end of a wooden utensil poke holes throughout the top of the cake and pour the sweetened condensed milk all over top and spread all around. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes.

3. Add the cool whip on top and spread evenly.

Sprinkle all the heath bits all over top and add the caramel sauce to a zip lock bag, cut the tip off and drizzle all over top of the cake. Add the cake to the fridge for 2-4 hours. Slice and enjoy!

Tips and tricks! Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

You can add the cake to the fridge for 2-4 hours OR leave it overnight. In a rush? Place the cake in the freezer for 1 hour.

You can poke holes in the cake with a fork or a straw!

2. Pumpkin pie bars

The treat size version of everyone's favourite traditional autumn or fall dessert, these pumpkin pie inspired bars are super easy to make and can be sliced into mini sized bar bites to serve to a bigger crowd at little extra effort. Top each with a little cream to finish! These perfectly encapsulate the season in mini bite form.

Serves: 16 bars Prep time: 10 minutes Chill time: 2 hours Cook time: 45 minutes

For the Crust you will need

• 2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1 ounce cream cheese, softened
• 3/4 cups sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 egg

For the Pumpkin Pie Filling:

• 15 ounces pumpkin puree
• 2 eggs
• 6 ounces sweetened condensed milk
• 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
• Pinch of salt

To begin, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, beat together the butter, cream cheese and sugar until smooth.

Add the vanilla extract and egg and beat until mixed.

Add the dry ingredients and beat until a thick dough forms.

Cover the bowl and chill the dough for at least 1 hour. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x9 pan with parchment paper, then grease the sides of the pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Press the dough into the prepared pan in an even layer and place in the oven to bake for 10 minutes, until just beginning to brown.

While the crust is baking, whisk together the pumpkin, egg, sweetened condensed milk, pumpkin spice, and salt.

Remove the pan from the oven and pour the pumpkin pie filling over the top of the crust. Return to the oven to bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the center of the pumpkin pie filling is set.

Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan, then transfer to the refrigerator to chill for one hour before serving.

Top with a little cream to finish, or decorate however you like!
